Stolen vehicles seized from dealers along border | Bangkok Post: news

(Photo by Assawin Pinitwong)TAK - About 100 vehicles believed stolen by a criminal network were impounded during raids on eight used-car outlets in Mae Sot and Mae Ramat districts on Thursday. A number of vehicles carried fake licence plates, and some did not have registration documents. The crackdown followed a tip-off the outlets bought vehicles from gangs which provided stolen cars and bikes to shops along Thai-Myanmar border. Pol Maj Gen chief Surachet Hakpal, of the POSD, said the teams were instructed to examine vehicle registration documents and ascertain if the dealers acquired the vehicles legally.
